GOPDC CUT SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 24 BED CAPACITY WARDS.



Ghana Oil Palm Development Company Limited (GOPDC), has today, Monday, September 11, 2023, cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern 24-Bed capacity Male and Female Wards for Asuom Health Centre in the Kwaebibirem Municipality in the Eastern Region. 


The facility when completed, will have dressing and injection room, Consulting room ,changing room, washroom and records. 


The project, expected to be completed within four (4) months, would provide residents access to quality healthcare solving the challenge of traveling long distance to Kade and Akwatia for basic healthcare services.


During the brief ceremony, the Community Relations Officer- GOPDC, Mr. Andrew Enyam Andoh reiterated the company’s commitment to achieving quality healthcare coverage in the communities they operate. 


He therefore entreated the chief and his elders, the entire community, to own the project by assisting the contractor to execute and complete the project on scheduled time.


Osabarima Ofosuhene Apenteng II - Asuomhene, expressed gratitude to GOPDC for making this project a reality, stressing that “it has been a dream come true as the people of Asuom have been waiting for more than a decade to see this day”.


Present at the brief ceremony were, Osabarima Baah Ntiku- Mintahene and elders, Mr. C L Twumasi Ankrah, a Board member of GOPDC, Dr. Brainard Ayisi Asare- Kwaebibirem Municipal Health Director, Mr. Kumar Gato- Director, Pegphan Ventures, Mr. F L Mingle- Project Engineer, Rev. Paul K Baah- PCG Asuom District Minister, Superintendent Stephen Abanga- Asuom District Police Commander, Representatives from Asuom Muslim Community, A representative from Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly, Members of Asuom Health Committee and other stakeholders. 


The company employs over 5,000 workers at the Kwaebibirem municipality of the Eastern region of Ghana.
